Our last coach was a Crusader 325. Put almost 10,000 miles on the original tries before they started to blow out. Changed to Maxxis and got 20,000 before they blew out. To go to bigger tires you have to change to 8 lugs and 110 lbs rims. Cheaper to buy Maxxis and change at the 16,000 mile mark.

One thing I changed that made a big difference was to go to a 7,000 lbs brake assembly. They bolt right on even though the current assembly is only 5,200 axles. Also changed the brake wire from 12 to 10 gauge. You step on the brakes, the coach stops, no questions asked.

When the Windjammer comes out of hibernation a set of Maxxis will be waiting.

Did you change from drum to disc breaks or just a larger drum? Sounds interesting.

Happy Trails

Can't wait for hibernation season to end.
Merry Christmas.

Per Dexter, the brake assembly is heavier duty than the 5,200 lb assembly. Tougher lining, bigger magnet and self-adjusting. Told to increase the size of the wire from battery to the brakes to supply more juice to the bigger magnet. Part #K23-464-00 LH and #K23-465-00 RH brake kit 12 x 2; 7,000 lb Elec, bolt right on, bought four, one for each wheel. No new drums required.
