Replacement axle
Recently purchased a used 2011 Forest River Surveyor model # SV263. First time out burned up a bearing on axle it caught fire burned up electric brakes and ruined axle. Long story short need to replace axle assembly. Can anyone give me specs on this axle and a reliable supplier.

Best bet is to check with the dealer who can run your VIN# and see what you have. Should be an easy fix as the axles basically just bolt on.

Look at the axle. There should be a sticker indicating what the current axle is rated for. It is most likely a Lippert, but it may be a Dexter.
My guess is that they are 3,500 lb. axles.
Is it a torflex or a leaf spring axle? All indicators show leaf springs, which is a good thing for you.
There are numerous places to get axles for trailers, and a lot of folks have gotten some killer deals by buying from someone other than Dexter/Lippert.

Unless the spindle itself is damaged, I doubt you need a complete axle. Just the brake shoes, springs, magnet, bearings, seal, etc.

I'm guessing since the bearing headed south there's a good chance it took the spindle with it.

That's why I would do a close inspection. If the cone/s did not spin on the spindle, the axle should be good to go.

OC, I presumed it was toast. Hopefully it's fine!

Wow, I thought I was the only member her to own a SV263 !!
I also thought that I had the last year of that model, so glad to see more were made.
My 2008 SV263 has 2 Lippert 3500 lb. torsion axles. But, that is not to say that 2011 model is the same.
As Big Baron indicated in his post #3, the best way to determine your current setup is to crawl under the camper and get the information off of the identification plate. Calling whatever manufacturer with that information should get you the correct OEM width and torsion angle to replace the axle.
