Question Replacement pinbox for Arctic Wolf 3660SUITE

I had purchased a Reese Sidewinder with the trailer when I bought it since I had a shortbed truck. While the concept is superb, turns really tight without cab interference, the wedges don't live up to the job and have so much slop with the Curt A20 that it became a white knuckle ride. I also noticed a bit of slop between the pin and jaws, and not sure if that is normal or not.

I have since replaced the truck with an F-450, for other reasons besides the short bed, and no longer need the Sidewinder. I have it locked in place with the wedge removed, which I did when I towed it home from our last trip to an amazingly comfortable ride, but came close a couple times to smashing the cab.

I am considering removing and selling the pinbox and replacing it with something else. I still have the original one, which I can swap out, but thinking that maybe a suspension type might be better.

Which ones should I look at and which to avoid? I am still using the Curt A20 since it is a good hitch, and only a year old.

Just curious if you used the custom wedge for the Curt A series?

Yep, #68203 Wedge.

You can see the gap between the wedge and plate.

This is as far forward as it will go on the pinbox.

Did you by chance try the wedge in the other direction?
Some of those custom wedges fit two different model hitches.

Even worse.

The problem is that it won't go deep enough into the hitch to actually lock in place, it is at the very end of travel.

So now I am just using it locked in place, without a wedge and use it conventionally, but will probably replace it with something else, but what, is the question. I no longer need it since I replaced the truck with a long bed F-450.

These look like something with promise...

Ah they do make a standard pinbox. Only ones I have seen were the goosebox ones.
