Wow, no. Mine is 5 months old, had them cranked down on the ground all winter, haven't noticed any paint issues. Sounds like you got a batch with defective paint issues. Where it is parked, was salt tossed at them following snowfall?

I have a 2018 FR 24 ft TT and all the mounting screws are totally rusted out. One just decided to fall off in the driveway. There are two bolts in the bottom of the jacks also. All 8 of them are rusted. I'am just going to replace all of them with stainless steels ones. Not worth the hassle to try to get the dealer to fix them,,sad to say. Lippert most likely built this trailer frame years before it was built, and it sat out in the weather for those years.
In your case I would definately make the dealer replace all of them,,,if you HAVE a decent dealer. Sorry about the rant, but its true.

We have decided to replace the stabilizers with some that are NOT made in CHINA. Does anyone have suggestions for a mfg or where to purchase?

NOT made in China? LOL, good luck. America gave up it's edge when we stopped making stuff. Rant done, sorry I have nothing to offer.

I don't know of any that are not made overseas.

I have a new forest river product as well. While shopping around I noticed all the stabilizers had paint that was falling off in flakes/not sticking to the metal.

Quick fix for 10$ and an hour of time was to take them apart, wire brush them and hit them with a spray paint can. Shouldn’t have to do it on a new trailer but......seems to be the way it is

The ones that come with FR products are crap. I recently had to replace one and bought one from Harbor Freight that was a lot beefier for $28.

I always carry a small can of Por15 and a bunch of dollar store foam brushes. If I see rust, it gets painted over right away.

I had to replace all of our mounting hardware due to rusting. I used Stainless Steel hardware.
Our camper has never been in a road salt condition and our stabilizers have lost some paint also. I just brush if off with a wire brush and the paint it with Rustoleum.

I’m not sure what they’re using for paint these days but it’s garbage. Our 2007 frame looks decent for its age. My BIL’s 3 year old Jayco is terribly rock blasted and rusted at the front. He doesn’t have aggressive tires and uses a hitch mounted rock guard.

You can thank the EPA for the crappier paint these days. Environmentalists want their cake and be able to eat it too.

Sorry if it is too political but it is true.

Can't use the good chemicals in paints and stains any longer .....

Due to a "senior moment" I had to replace one of my stabilizer jacks shortly after I took delivery in 2017.

I replaced it with one of these from Amazon. It has only a couple months less exposure to road and weather yet looks almost as it did from the box (dirt, not rust). Screw shaft is night and day to the remaining original jacks which now have paint peeling from all. Since day one the screws on the original jacks were crooked and the jacks dance back and forth while I'm operating them with my cordless drill. Not this one.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They're still made in China but there are many different quality levels available from China. To get the better quality one needs to pay a little more. Forest River buys the cheap--------.

I'll be replacing the remaining three later this winter.

Adding:

The pictured jack weighs a full pound more than the factory supplied jacks. More steel, more durable, more stable too.

My old Terry had BAL stabilizers on it and after 22 years ALWAYS stored outside it never had rust like this. Paint never peeled either.
