Basically the expert was advising to slightly speed up to maintain you control first, then slow gradually and then find a place to pull over safely.
This is counterintuitive, as most people tend to hit the brakes, which only creates a greater loss of control situation. Not saying it's always a disastrous situation by reacting this way but it could lead to a worse situation
