Don't know what you are ranting about, there are several first hand posts in this thread about using trailer aide type devices.
It's not rocket science, it's changing a tire. Several methods to get it done that are all acceptable. You just have to be smarter than what you are playing with.
I do agree everyone should know how, and should at least try out their method before it's actually needed. For other folks, that's why they have phones or a thumb.

I've had to change a trailer tire alongside the freeway once. Luckily i had a wide, paved, shoulder to work on.
After that I added an inexpensive high visibility, reflective vest to my tire changing kit. It is bright and at night it looks like it's battery powered when light hits it.

I didn't go with the drive on one because I can't use it in the front of my truck. I have a HY-LIFT jack mounted on my jeep and it will pick it up easy but it is too slow on the highway. A drive on that fits under the axle would work on it. I may just buy one and try it at home.

Of course your scissor jack was made in America I'm sure. The footprint of a floor jack is not much bigger than a scissor jack, but both would work in most instances. I've found the floor jacks easier to use, but to each his own, and I wouldn't run Chinese tires period. Replaced them the day my trailer came home from the dealer.

The jack that came with my 2018 Silverado works on my trailer. I position it under the leaf spring next to the axle. Works as good as anything else and I don't have to carry a second jack.

You really need to look at a product called EZ Jack. I have one of these for my tandem. Works great and is available at E-trailer or Amazon. I changed a tire on my rig in 15-20 min start to finish. So easy!!!! And it's made out of industrial aluminum not the cheap plastic crap. Also gives 8" of lift. Check it out and see what you think.

What makes the difference is how long or tall the bracket is that the spring rocker or equalizer is mounted to. If the good axle can travel a long distance before the spring contacts the frame it won't raise the flat high enough to get the new tire on. It would be possible to put a block of some kind between the frame and the rocker on the good wheel to raise the flat more. I am interested in the C shaped type that fit under the flat axle and pivot it it up. If they work they are absolutely the fastest. Are they stable? I have never used one and because my PUP is a single axle I would like for first hand accounts of them. What everyone needs to do is test what they intend to use to change a flat with before having a tire failure half way to BFE and it is no longer a test. You are missing the point or I did a poor job of explaining it. The long and and the short of it, at least I am getting people to think about it.

I think the second you get out they see you and decide to see how close they can get w/o actually hitting you.

You are right, probably not. One probably can't buy either one made in the USA and that is sad.

Get off the road if you can. Otherwise, do what the tow trucks and Law Enforcement do. Unhook and park your tow vehicle behind the trailer, blocking the path of oncoming cars.
I suppose a tire pressure management system would give enough warning to give you a chance to find a safe place to change a tire.
