Tire Question
Hi gang,
I noticed this “bump” on my driver side rear tire on my 2016 FR3 30 DS. I haven’t taken it out since last June and I would assume the tires are at least 5 years old. I have 22K miles on the coach.
Should I be concerned with this? Any recommendations on what should be done if anything? I attached a picture.
Thanks!

Appears to be a broken band.
I would be concerned.

If they're 5+ year old ST tires, they should all be replaced regardless. Some replace sooner.
RVtiresafety.net (Tireman9 on this forum) has some good info. on tire bulges here: RV Tire Safety: Tire Bulge. Defect? or Damage

"That condition, sometimes referred to as sidewall undulations, is a common characteristic of radial tire construction and are purely a visual characteristic and will not affect the performance of the tire. Undulations are more noticeable in larger/wider radial-ply tire sizes and become more visible with higher inflation pressures."
Five year old ST trailer tires are risky to drive on.

X2! Virtually all radials have this though you may have to look close to find it. Or not, some are far more obvious than in your photo (my Michelin 2500HD tires for instance).

That doesn't appear to be undulation to me. It's sometimes hard to judge from a pic though.
It appears to be a bulge, which indicates broke cord.
The easiest way to verify if it's undulation (which is an indentation) or broke cord (which is a bulge)....is to feel on the opposite sidewall in the same place.
If there is an indentation in the same place, it's undulation and no need for concern. If not, and this is a bulge, you have broke cord and need to replace ASAP.

Not sure of what it is, but for clarification, this is a tire on a motor home so the ST tire/5 year replacement doesn’t apply.
If it were me, I’d get to a reputable tire shop for an evaluation and possible replacement.

This previous post may help you ascertain whether this is undulation.... or broke cords (which I think it is)

It could be something else and that's why I went and looked at pictures at Michelin, Goodyear & Bridgestone web sites before making my post. They all had very similar pictures described as undulations. Equally as many as indentations.
