Five years in the sun will wreck any tire.
My grandfather used to drive his Model A over Snoqualmie when there were 37 water crossings.

Here in WA State Sun is only out for a small portion of the year.

Far different than places like AZ, NM, TX.

The real problem with the roads in WA are the lack of maintenance to the bridges! Snoqualmie Pass is a prime example. The ONLY bridges on I-90 that are safe are the ones just west of Ellensburg where other road widening are currently taking place. Inslee and our legislature divert money from road improvements to saving Orcas and homeless people.

Not just bridge surfaces but ANY road surface made of concrete in this State.

That covers much of the road surface through Everett, Seattle, Tacoma, etc.

With more cars you'd think there'd be more gas tax money for maintenance and repair of roads. Apparently I am WRONG in such thinking

We were NOT using out TST at the time because the monitor has gone wonky.
Great picture and glad you're ok. A similar thing happened to a friend and the TST never went off because the tire still had air in it.

It's not even so much that. They sell us on a 5 cent increase on the gas tax "to fix our roads", but then they use the money to pay on the loans (bonds) that they took out for the previous improvements. Then, when something urgent happens - like the West Seattle Bridge failure - they issue new bonds to pay for it, and then they will hit us up for more money when those come due.

I swear, one of these days I am going to see one of those "Your Tax Dollars at Work" signs, and I'm gonna take a hostage until they prove it.

Utah and Washington appear to be especially fond of disappearing right lanes. It also appears that Ca and Wa use fuel tax money for the general fund. Regardless, we all need roads that won't break our gear.

Around Seattle gas tax money is used for bike lanes. Bike lanes on crowded city streets that often have ZERO bikes on them.
