Viair issue

I just replace the tires on my trailer and had metal valve stems installed. I went to add some air to a couple of the tires and my Viair pump with the provided guage and chuck will not lock onto the stem. I never had this issue with the prior high pressure rubber stems. Has anyone else run into this issue? What did you do to solve? I suspect I need to stop at an auto supply to get some kind of replacement.

For anyone who runs into this issue, I contacted Viair customer support via their chat setup. Their chat people were at lunch and I just submitted the a description of my issue. Later the same day, I got an e-mail back saying they thought the grommet in the chuck was warn and to contact them for a replacement. I called today and they are mailing out a replacement free of charge.

I got metal stems on my trailer and my Viair chuck works well, so maybe yours is worn.

I have a chuck that will not put air into a metal valve stem. The plunger inside the chuck appears to be slightly shorter when compared to other chucks. I changed the chuck out and not I get air in those same valves without a problem.
