West lake tires

I have west lake super st tires on my new Cherokee tt. I have seen a lot of comments about other types but nothing on these. Anyone out there using these or had issues with these tires?

Just another in the long line of made in China, brand-engineered tires - called that by some former bicycle and farm cart tire maker wanting to capture some big American contract and thought Westlake would sound better than something unpronouncably Chinese.

Maybe some of those companies actually know how to design, build and QC a tire that FR is going to run at 95% load but there's a big pile of stigma for them to overcome because of decades of crap that came before.

I was not comfortable loading that type of tire at 95% and changed out the originals (with 40 miles on them, plus about 400 from the factory) for tires that will be run at less than 85% capacity from a manufacturer who knows how to design, build and QC tires (even though they, like everyone else today, does at least the last two in China).

Everyone makes their own value decisions and choices (and as the wise man says, if you choose not to decide you still have made a choice).

Westlakes came with our Sabre 5'ver...just under 7K miles and two years and they have performed great...no complaints, I always maintain proper air pressure and store accordingly when parked plus do not jump or scrap curbs ,)
