Wheels and Tires 14” to 15” ??

Right now I have 205/75R14 the best Castle Rock ST tires with Steel wheels.

TH is new 2020 used 3 times and last time i felt a little bounce on our way back.
Took the tires to Discount Tire, tires were NOT balanced at all and had a weird U shape in the tread part. I want to replace them with GY Endurance

Now the big question

Should I get new aluminum wheels?? If so, should I go to 15” ???

What do you guys recommend??

Thanks

I just up-sized the tires and left the same 14" rims

Went to 215 in the Goodyear endurance 14" Carries over 2120lbs at 60 psi. Diameter was .4 inch bigger. You'll need to be sure your rims are at least 5.5" wide for the 215's

You probably have Load Range C tires... get Load Range D for a larger load safety margin, or D range to E range... stay at 14" and buy the rims if you have money to burn and you like them... going to 15" tires MIGHT get you grief when the clearance to the tire from the frame decreases and they bottom out on the frame during bumps in the road.

I had Load Range C and got GY Endurance in a Load Range D... same size tire 14" but D have a greater load capacity. ALSO, get metal stems installed to replace the rubber tire stems. These hold up better when you also move into a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, like the one offered by TST TPMS

Tires

I did the same as Mike134. The Goodyear site gives you diameters for the tire sizes. You need to maintain 3" between tires and enough clearance inside the wheel well. I went from 14"-205-C to 14"-215-D and added about 350 lb. per tire VS factory tires. Trailer tows better and I have a bargain of safety on load. I looked at 15" and did not have the room. Besides you are still limited by axel weight rating.

14 to 15 inch tires

Can't you get the Endurance D rating in the 205 tire in the 14 inch tires that gives the higher 2150 rating. I think so.
