I have a friend looking at purchasing (2002 I think) this model. I personally dont know much about this line or model. I would appreciate any insight or opinions.

I have an 08 Cardinal and find it a well built top of the line unit. Yes, they like others have their share of problems. However everything being equal the Cardinal is a great brand! For some detailed information you may want to try the Cardinal RV Club web site; CARDINAL RV CLUB

My grand parents have a 2003 Cardinal 29ft 5th wheel, can't remember the model #. They've had it for 4-5 years and have had zero problems with it. Seems very well made and has all the comforts of home, just seems really heavy, my grandfather pulls it with a Dodge 3500 dully with the Cummins and it's not fun going up hills. This model has two slides, not sure of the weight.

Issues will be the same as with any RV that is 10 years old. The roof will be near the end of its life. Appliances may need replacing due to age. But generally Forest River (parent company) builds good RV's for their price point. Better than most

I believe that Cardinals are about as fine a TT as you are going to find, short of a custom built one. However, there is one reservation that I have always had about them. If you download the brochure, you will see that they have fiberglass insulation in the roof and floor. Bad business in the event of leaks. JMHO

Sounds like the opportunity presented itself too easy. Glad you're enjoying the rig.

The Cardinal RV Club has a wealth of info and great rally's.
