Duo-therm ac unit

I have a 2005 34XL Cardinal 5th wheel and am having trouble understanding the analog control for the A/C unit.
One setting is for system: "cool-off-furnace.
The second is for Fan: "on-auto.
The third is a switch for "Hi-Lo (fan speed).
The fourth is the temperture lever from 40 Fto 80 F.

With the system setting in the "off" position, when you put the Fan from "on to auto, the fan on the A/C unit starts up. This doesn't seem right as I figured if the system is in the "off" position, nothing should run or does the A/C fan come on just as a fan without activating the air conditioning. Even reading this I find it hard to follow but if anyone can understand what I'm saying and knows how this works, or if this is the way it works, I would be much endebted.
Thanks you: firelaw

when switch is in on posistion with temp set higher than air temp in camper will result in fans only coming on.

when slider is moved under air temp inside a/c then will kick on

when in auto position fan and a/c will only come on when set temp is higher than air temp. then go off when set temp is reached .

same for furnace .

I am assuming that you have to move the switch off of "off" to either "cool" or "furnace" to make the other settings work correctly?? However I am still puzzled by the fact that when the switch is in the "off' position, the A/C fan come on when the fan is moved from "on' to "auto"
