Hard wired surge protector

I have a 2017 Cardinal 3250 5th. Wheel and want to mount a Progressive EMS-HW50C inline surge protector but not sure where to find the easiest spot to mount the box and cut the in coming power line. Has anyone installed one of these surge protectors in there couch. Thanks Don

we have a 2015 model 3825. I don't know if the electrical layout is the same as yours. on ours the incoming 50 amp cable comes all the way up from the rear connector to the front battery / generator compartment. there is a transfer switch mounted on the rear wall of this compartment. the hardwired ems is mounted on the side of the generator enclosure. the incoming 50 amp cable was disconnected from the transfer switch and wired to the input of the ems unit. new cable was run from the output of the ems to the input of the transfer switch.

Hard wired serge protector

Thanks for the info but I don't have the Gen. so I found that just under the Electrical panel there is a heater vent with room to put the serge protector. I took the panel out removed the heater vent and rerouted it toward the living room so now it does a great job warming the living area Cut wire and mount serge protector (Lots of room). Also made a removable panel so if I ever need to work on it I can just unscrew the panel. I also purchased 50 amp male and female plugs so if a problem with serge protector I can put the plugs on and be back on line.
