I leave mine in. I use a Coleman 3.5w battery tender solar panel to keep it healthy. Panel is pointed SW-ish. Battery was fully or nearly fully charged every time I checked it. As noted, a charged battery will not freeze until temps approach -90 f.
Biggest reason I see for pulling a battery is if you store your rig in a place where it might grow legs.

I take them (2) out and use a battery tender for them. I gives me the opportunity to look them over and clean the terminals or service them. Do what works for you.

I fully charge mine and leave it in the camper. I also disconnect the negative cable to remove any chance of a parasitic discharge. The chemical reaction inside the battery slows down as it gets colder and the battery will actually last longer stored in a cold place. I've never bothered to top up the charge while it's in storage and it's always good to go in the spring.

Maintenance of course is key. Water levels etc. I leave mine in and never have a problem, but I don't trust the trailer converters. They are generally cheap and do not have battery maintenance circuitry. (I'm sure there are better ones, but a not in your average trailer.) I use the chargers listed below from HF. They work great, keep the battery level up, and are not expensive to buy. I set mine up to plug directly into the solar plug in, (just a simple outlet direct to the battery), and my batteries stay charged and last for years.

Can you start the engine mbs 2400 sunseeker with the coach batteries removed . I am not sure if it would damage any of the charging systems.
Thanks

I just bought that very same charger at an HF store last week for my shed...
Now that cooler temps are here I'll be getting a solar charger to keep in the 5'ver so that I can keep my battery back in the camper, hooked up and charged!
Saw a nice one at O'Reilly's Auto Parts that I'm interested in.
Winter is our camping season down here in the desert southwest.

I live in a cold climate so I have to take mine out. It gets too cold for too long.

Like others I used to remove, take home to garage, put BATTERY TENDER on battery. I now leave both batteries in RV, remove cables, connect BATTERY TENDERS to both batteries. Getting too old or lazy to lift this stuff!

X2.
After reading this post I will leave my batteries in the coach with the negative cable disconnected. Do not have electric available where I store and we get lots of snow so my solar would not work covered with a foot or 2 of the white stuff here in the Colorado Rockys.

I've never disconnected my battery during the winter with the power turned off. When I open up for the season, I hear the converter running I'm assuming to charge the battery. Good all season.

I've done it both ways......but recently I remove the battery and store in the garage on a trickle/maintenance charge. Mainly just to keep it warm if nothing else. I un-plug and cover the Salem Hemisphere Lite. I'm getting close though to heading south this time of the year in the future (hopefully) and I won't have to worry about it anymore!!!

I've always pulled mine, stuck them in garage and they sit hooked up to a battery tender all winter. Cord hanging off a trailer, is a ladder for a mouse....if you have the "pass thru" cord and not the receptacle on the side.

My first 5th wheel I installed a disconnect switch. I turned it to off and left the battery in for a Wisconsin winter. In the spring, turned the switch back to on, run the 3 slides out and connected to shore power. Did this for 9 years with original battery until traded. It may still be working for all I know. Our current CC, I turned disconnect to off and batteries were dead in spring. There is drain even with switch off. So this time took batteries out and brought home.

Probably has more to do with the cheap batteries our dealerships install than a power draw with the disconnect switch still allowing draw when turned off.

If I don't leave it plugged in the batteries will be dead come spring time.

I leave mine in but have a battery disconnect. I turn it to off and in the Spring when I get it out of indoor winter storage I turn it on and no problems

Seasonal condition for batteries
If you choose to leave the unit plugged in you will need to check the water level in the batteries. During our Walk Thuroughs i suggest to our customers to check the water in the batteries every two weeks. thats not saying water will need to be put in the batteries every two weeks but you will catch it in time if they do need to have water put in them. Also if you are keeping the unit plugged in durning the winter leave you fridge on this may lengthen the life of the fridge by keeping the fluid in the core flowing so not to allow a blockage.

Always pull ours, put it in the basement and put a tender on it. Battery test in spring always reads full charge. I am getting too old to tote that anchor in and out and up and down, so this may be the last time it spends winter in paradise.
Cheers!

My Cardinal came with factory disconnect switch, but alas, I assume for liability reasons, it is not a true disconnect. Certain items, mainly LP detector are still powered. Kinda defeats the purpose of battery disconnect. I installed another disconnect right at the batteries. I leave my batteries in the bird all winter. No problems.

My 5th wheel had no battery disconnect switch. I disconnected the cables from the battery for a couple of years. I then installed a Blue Sea disconnect at the battery as you have. Works well. Simple flip of the switch
