Mono Lake area Suggestions?

Heading to Lake Tahoe and the down hwy 395 to Mono Lake and Bodie area in mid Sep. Anyone have suggestions on where to camp and what to see? Will eventually hop over into Yosemite if the road is open again. Just retired so we can take longer trips now!

Twin Lakes is great. It is about 10 miles up the hill from Bridgeport. Turn left at the Shell station. We were their last month. We stayed in the National Forest Camp ground with a 3625 Cardinal. Light on the hook ups, but the alpine forest makes up for it. There is a full hook up camp ground across and down the road. We had great fishing maxing out every day on the upper lakes south west shore. Wear warm clothing at night . Rent a boat on the upper lake. There is a restaurant in Lone Pine called Seasons. Great food at modest prices.
