Morryde Handrail

Hi, I've purchased a 3 step handrail for my Morryde steps, I have a 4 step model, didn't really know there was 2, wondering if it has to go on the bottom step or not, also am I supposed to drill right through the stringer part to put them on, just wondering if this is the case why wouldn't they give me long enough bolts, now I can get longer bolts no problem but I am just wondering.

Morryde Handrail

I don’t know if this helps but the bolts on my 4-step don’t go all the way through. Must have been assembled with the rail on it. ??

If you through bolt it, make sure you have enough clearance for the bolt & nut when you go to lift the steps (doorway clearance). Depends on how tight a fit they are in your specific unit.

Yes, I have about 1" of clearance, but I do have some self tappers that may work as well

You will likely have better luck buying the correct one for your 4 step. You should be able to return/exchange?

Morryde Handrail

Our Cardinal is a 2018 with 4 steps manufactured in 2017 and the steps are predrilled and tapped for the handle. I believe the mounting is the same for 3/4 steps.

We installed the MORryde STP-3-30-04H last August. The steps are equipped with "nutserts" already installed on the left side of the steps to facilitate handrail mounting.

Yes, I did see that, I actually put then on the outside of the steps, works a lot better, in my opinion. I used carriage bolts to bolt it on.

Same for me; drilled new holes and installed on the outside of the stringer. Using the pre-tapped inserts caused the handrail to hit the cabinet near the entry door. Works fine, and the handrail is a big help.
