Tires

Anyone running Carlisle tires? I have a 2017 3825FL. Local dealer only has the Carlisle in stock and I’m kinda in a hurry. Any thoughts?

I have a couple of friends that always run Carlisle Radial Trail HD trailer tires. One uses E load range, the other runs F. Most of us with heavier trailers 12k+ have gone to LR G 14ply tires and really like them, especially the way they tow. Much stiffer side walls.

I thought they were selling me the HD, they only had ultra CRT in stock. Never heard of them.

Me neither. Think I would shop around, even though you are in a hurry. Don't want to get stuck with tires you don't like or trust.
Oh, and check the manufacture date on whatever you buy.

Last October I replaced my West Lake tires with Carlisle Trail load range E on my 14,500 GVW 5th wheel. I noticed right away that the Carlisle tires squat a lot more than the West Lakes. Since then I have put on over 3,000 miles. Although the tires seem to be wearing quite well I have noticed a significant drop in fuel economy. Everything else being equal I have lost 2-3 mpg towing with my Silverado Duramax.
I can think of no reason other than the tires squat more to account for the loss of mpg. I wish now I had spent the extra money on Goodyear Endurance tires.
By the way I had nothing against the West Lake tires but it was time to replace them.

We mounted Carlisle Radial Trail HD 4 years ago and have pulled the 5th about 6,000 miles. They look almost brand new, no noticeable tread wear and zero cracking. It would be a hard decision if I replaced them now. I'm very much "Buy American" and might opt for GoodYear Endurance.
