Want to add a 3rd A/C unit to my 3350RLX.

My 3350RLX showed it is pre-wired for a 3rd A/C unit. Has anyone added it and if so, can you share what you did and where you placed the unit on the roof.

Thanks,

If you are prewired, then you dont have a choice where to put the AC unit. YOu will need to mount it to where the 110v power is located. Usually where there is an existing roof vent ie: fantastic fan.

There is a vent fan located over the stove. Also one over the bathroom.

I assume it goes behind the plumbing vents.

And do I tie into the existing discharge holes, or do I add additional discharge vents?

I just added a third unit to my FR3875FB. My existing 2 AC units are ducted. The third unit i installed it put in place of a fantastic vent. Unfortunately it wasn't pre-wired for the unit so I had to run new 110v supply to my circuit breaker panel. The new ac is not ducted and blows directly into the living area. The only way to tie into existing duct work was to remove several ceiling panels.

I presume you existing units are ducted and you have a fantastic vent that you will be removing to install the AC unit. The hole left by removing the fantastic vent should be 14" x 14" which should satisfy the requirement for the AC unit.

Note that you will need 12v and a tstat wire along with the 110v.

Hmm. If I put it where the vent is, it would only serve the bathroom.

Need to research more.

Thanks

My Cardinal 2018 3825 FL came with three ACs. They are ducked together. One 13,500 BTU in the bedroom, one in kitchen 13,500 BTU and one in front living 15,000 BTU. I also have two of those fans that run on a remote, bathroom and kitchen.

From your picture it doesnt look like you have a fantastic vent in the living area. If you are sure it its pre-wired, the manufacturer should have wires and roof support for the AC unit. They weigh about 90 pounds or so. Check your 110v panel and see if there is a breaker for a 2nd AC unit.

You could also call the manufacturer and provide them with you VIN and they could tell if it is infact pre-wired and where.

Good luck.

Mine has a white solid electrical cover on the ceiling that shows where the wires are and where the unit should go.

In North Texas, we had heat index of 115 a few weeks back, so i am considering it.

I also got an email back from Forest River with the pictures of where to install.

I will see if I can attach or provide a link to a stored location.

Does yours already have the return air vents installed? Mine has everything except the a/c already done.

Yss, the return air vents are installed.

I am waiting for a reply from the factory on how to hook into the existing vents.
