Cruisin,

I can tell you it does not work, as I have already tried it. They did not install the required wifi module, which is needed to connect your cellphone to the OneControl app. I was disappointed it was not included in the Ground Control package. Here is a few links to youtube videos showing and describing this as well.

Well that popped my bubble, guess I'll delete the app and look for a better location for the mini pad, they left lots of extra wire and Lippert claims it's water proof. Not sure I can spend the extra money on a remote just for the convivence. Thanks for the info and happy RV'ing.

Crusin,

I found the remote much cheaper at Trekwood RV parts. Its only $150 and LCI verified that part number works with our leveling systems.

Trekwood RV Parts - Outback / 2016 / Slideout & Accessories / Mechanism / Mechanism - Touch Screen Transmitter Only - For Canbus Receiver - LCI 329164

I talked w/E'trailer about their remote and was told if our Phoenix did not come from factory w/remote operation capabilities, their remote would not work the auto level system. Lippert supplies a receiver, @/extra cost, with their replacement remote. I may be wrong, but that's what I been told.

Cruisin,

They are misinformed or just want to try and sell you a part you don't need. Look at your controller in the ceiling of your front compartment, you should see a black wire (antenna) hanging from about the middle of it. That is the wireless antenna for the remote. Here is a quote from the rep at LCI, I received this morning.

"If yours is wireless capable, it will have a small black antenna hanging off of it."

I have this hanging from mine and will take a picture and post here when I get home tonight.

Yea, I plan to do that, via an earlier conversation, but our RV is still in the dealers' shop for warranty repairs (6 weeks). An anonymous source (want name names) at Coachman also said these units had no remote or Iphone capabilities??

As usual the manufacture is slow sending replacement parts, some were wrong and had to be reordered. Main issues were the front cargo bay door warped and leaked when driving in rain, the bedroom A/C also leaked in rain. Along with that, the TV screen & the Frig door were scratched. Bathroom vent cover had already cracked and leaking, bed spread separating at the seams, 1 tire had a poorly installed valve stem that leaked when filled to 80 psi, (Oh all tires were not filled to factory specs, 80 psi, which I didn't know til I checked a month later after delivery, 4000 miles on under inflated tires), plus some other issues I wanted fixed.

Enough, thanks again for the info, still hard to justify even spending $150 for the convenience, but thinking it over.

1. Front cargo bay door warped....Mine bows out in the middle, is that what yours is doing? I think that door is much to thin to begin with, compared to the other storage doors.

2. Bathroom vent cover had already cracked and leaking....I replaced my vent with a Maxxair Fan vent and while scraping the dicor off, my putty knife slipped, hand hit the corner of the vent cover and it completely shattered. Glad I replaced it before a leaf fell on it an broke it... LOL

Well I ordered the remote and will let you know if it works.

# 1; YEP! Broke the key in lock trying to seal it from leaking. Yes the door is way tooo thin!

#2; I added a MaxAir cover I had leftover from our old RV, that's how I found the lid was toast. We use an insulated plug from the inside is why I couldn't see the busted cover.

And yes let me know if the remote works, I'll advise Anonymous @ Coachman if it does and determine if he agrees.

I will definitely let you know if it works for me.

Also you could have only talked to Joe in Service or Christy in Parts and I have dealt with both already. Christy is much more helpful than Joe is. IMHO

No, the name of the person I spoke with is Jordan, (oop's let it slip out), not sure of his title, may not have one. Name came from the selling dealer because I asked too many questions only he could answer, no surprise.

Cruisin,

I found a remote on eBay on eBay for half the price from an individual. And it works great! No more going back and forth from storage bay. Now I just meed do figure out how to keep the door from swinging open when gust of wind comes.

That's great, I assume the remote was the $150 one you wrote about. I may rethink the investment, but I got another idea, I'm considering cutting the 36' very heavy elect cord in half and attaching a M/F ends making 2 to reduce weight when lifting in and out. I considered a shorter cord, but then I would have carry both if 1 wasn't enough. I have found most RV parking spots do not require a 36' cord and dread dealing with that heavy thing. Maybe one @20' and remaining portion, any thoughts.

cruisin,

Yes it is the one I mentioned before. It didn't sell the first time, so I sent the seller a message asking if they would take $125 for it and they accepted. So I got it a lil cheaper. One thing about the remote I am disappointed with is, you do not have hitch height or retract all option on it. I am going to check with LCI and see is there is a firmware update available that adds those features to the remote.

Well I don't know if I would do that, sounds like a good idea and I don't see a problem in doing that. My only concern would be getting the connectors on the ends with good weather tight seals.

Since you have now had your 336 about 2 months, any major problems to speak of? Have you taken any long trips towing with the 2500? We tried to trade in our Rockwood TT but couldn't get a deal that I could live with, so we are trying to sell it ourselves. We are probably going to wait and pull the trigger on something during the RV Show season.

We have not had any major problems, we did find the glass globes on the lights over the sink were cracked and the outside shower head leaks, but I disconnected it for now. Shasta is going to send me the replacement globes to install myself.

We are getting ready to take our first long trip with it this Sunday and travelling to Santa Claus Indiana which is 300 miles and staying for a week. I don't expect any issues with my Ram 2500.

We got a pretty good deal, not the best but it was one we could live with. The bank required 10% down, which was sort of expected as we were upside down by about 12k, so we had to put 6k down. But the dealer gave us more than any other dealer we worked with. They gave us 23k for our 2013 Rockwood FW and sold it for 18k, I know cause the new owner called me with some questions the dealer couldn't answer... Image that!

Love It

We couldn't be happier with our 336RL. Traded a 9 yr old Sabre 28RETS, 31'er, similar floor plan, lot of miles, lots of use, including full time, a short time. The 04 F250 D was purchased to tow the Sabre, but does a great job pulling the Phoenix just can't fill the 55gal aux tank due to added pin weight. The brakes work great and I let the RV do most of the braking.

The RV had a few issues, rain leak in the front AC, cracked bath vent lid, the dealer corrected, no big problems. Made a few improvements, like replacing the King bed w/a Queen, yielding more room next to wall and closet, coat hooks through out, towel racks in kitchen & bath, cover over bath vent, insulation in skylight, relocated hanger rods in closets, and moved ground control panel to front compartment. Now I can reach the buttons and see the hitch at the same time. Yea were happy, as with any purchase there's always doubt, we're past that now having 5 trips, spending over 2 months and about 4000 miles with the Phoenix, Love It. Just got back from a Christmas week @ Coushatta Casino in Louisiana, can't wait for the next adventure.

No, Dealer Didn't Fix

Dealer wouldn't replace cargo door, tried to straighten but that didn't last. I switched location of keyed lock with hand turn lock putting it on outside keeping the center in contact with the factory seal. Seams to work, but haven't had a good test in heavy rain yet.

Another idea I had was to screw a 1" x 1" angle to the inside or install more weather seal to door on inside.

Still open to better Ideas.

The dealer wouldn't or the factory deny the warranty claim? Seems strange the dealer would say no without consulting the Shasta warranty manager.
