Winterize

I have a 2018 Shasta Oasis 26RL

Is there a video somewhere that would show how to winterize it?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. There are many videos on Youtube and you might try the search function at the upper right of the page there tons of articles on this subject. On my rig is a simple function of bypassing the water heater switching the pump suction to the winterize position attaching a hose to the outside antifreeze connection place it in a bottle of antifreeze and start pumping, there are kits to add this feature if your rig didn't come with it. good luck

We don't know if there's a video for your specific trailer but have a look at our winterizing FAQ page here--

The winterizing process across rigs is pretty similar.

The connections are often slightly different.

What do you know about the process?
Have you done winterizing on another R/V in the past or is this your 1st time?

There are a ton of posts on this forum about winterizing and lots of videos on YouTube.
A search here will bring up days of reading.

Have a look at as many as you'd like and apply the procedures to your particular rig.

If you still have certain questions, ask away.

Oh... and I see it is your 1st post... Welcome!

There are probably YouTube videos for every type of RV plumbing/winterizing system, especially bypass valves.
Just look for ones that have the same bypass valve setup as yours.
I doubt that is a video specific to your model but post pics of your WH bypass valves and docking station, if you have one.

thank you

Thanks all - yes I guess my confusion comes in because we don't have a wet bay or anything like that will all the fancy valves....I couldn't find anything model specific (which I was hoping for) but yes, I have been watching youtube...

I believe our bypass valve is behind a panel on the inside. Once I flip that, I'm guessing I need a hose on the outside sitting in some RV antifreeze and it will get sucked up through the system...

A water heater bypass valve and an antifreeze induction valve are not the same thing. "Flipping" one of them will not affect the other.

Maybe not!! In my trailer I have to remove a panel to access my water heater. I have to turn THREE valves there.

Then I have to remove a double drawer in the kitchen to access my water pump.
Once there I turn another valve to switch my pump from the fresh tank to the suction hose which is laying there. Then I put that suction hose into a jug of antifreeze.
Some water heaters have 1 or 2 or 3 valves that need to be turned correctly in order to go from summer to winterize mode.
We REALLY can't help you unless you take a photo of the back side of your water heater and post it.
Plus you MUST be sure your water heater is turned OFF. Put tape over the switch so it stays off until next spring. And of course it must be drained.
