2018 rockwood a213HW water heater reset

Hi,

I am a bit confused on how my water heater operates. I have a suburban water heater in my A-frame. Opening the external water heater cover, there is a black soft plastic cover with 2 buttons marked for reset. And inside the trailer, there is a water heater on/off panel with a reset button as well.

From google, I saw some models with an external on/off switch just next to where the anode rod is. But there is none in my case.

Doest that mean:
1) Without the external on/off switch, my w/h only uses 12V for ignition and can only run with propane, not 120V?
2) With a reset button inside the trailer, there is no need to use the external reset buttons?
3) If I still need to use the external reset buttons, do I just use the one on the right for 12V?

You need to post make and model number of WH, to determine which one you have.

We'll see if someone gives you a better answer. From what I see of this model it looks like the same as my newer A213HW. It is a propane only hot water heater unless someone added an aftermarket kit to it. (I've read some add this 120V upgrade) I'm also confused by the reset on the outside and the reset inside the camper. I've turned on the hot water heater and forgot to open the propane tanks. The system then said it needed a reset. I think the inside reset was just an LED? On the outside there are two rubber plugs and only one side is the reset. I believe the right one is the reset. I believe I discovered this by pushing on the left side and proceeding to push the rubber plug out of the cover. I then had to remove that cover to get the rubber plug. To double check me on the reset being on the right side, remove both rubber plugs and check that it's on the right. It's not much of a reset looking device. I pushed it and reinstalled both plugs. A few minutes later the system tried lighting the propane again and all was well. My guess is you don't even need to push the reset and just need to toggle the power on/off. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the info. I did more research and the info I found is inline with what you described.
