Air Conditioner fan runs constantly?

Does the fan on the A frames air conditioner run non stop or do I not have something set right? I have a 2019 Rockwood Toyhauler A122 with the air and heat pump on the floor under the kitchen dinette. I put the thermostat on 74-76 cools well, you can hear the compressor shut on and off but the fan runs non stop all day and all night. Is this normal?

Is your fan set to on, high, or low, instead of auto?

What model Rockwood A frame do you have exactly? Is it the A122?

Yes it is the A122 Model. We just bought it so this was our first trip out. Where do we set the fan? At the thermostat? I don’t know what the fan is set at. Will need to check it. We just turned the thermostat to cool and set the degrees.

If your thermostat looks like this, this video may help.

Thank you so much! We changed the fan to auto and it now shuts off and on. And yes it looked like that thermostat! The fan noise was driving us crazy non stop on high! At least it was only 1 trip out lol. Again thanks so so much!

Just a note. Typically, the Dometic A/C's when set to AU the fan speed will revert from high to low automatically when the selected temp is within about 3-4 degrees of that temp. Just so you don't panic if it happens.

A-frame toy hauler? I thought those were mutually exclusive terms.

That's what grabbed you from this thread? If you look it up, it is an a-frame toy hauler with a front deck .

Yes and it’s kind of annoying since it switches between high and low pretty frequently, at least in our trailer.

Missed the front deck. I was looking for a 5th wheel when I saw "toy hauler."

Yep Chuck, just like the Roo/Shamrock models that had a front deck.

Maybe what you should do is switch the fan to LO so that won't happen. Of course, the fan will continue to run even when the compressor kicks off, but it sounds like it doesn't kick off for you anyway.

My vast experience with RV air conditioners (two ) indicates they'll ice up if run on Low in some conditions. Fine albeit noisy on High.

Road/Campground

We leave our run and it drowns out the outside noise

I noticed the Cool Cat didn't work nearly as well with the fan on "High". Fan on "Auto" Cool Cat worked much better. Must be on "Auto" for heater anyway, so I just leave mine "Auto" all the time. True on both A-frames.

Mine did the same thing till I set to auto.Set it to auto and open top vent, set fan on low,wow mine-aframe got cold in 5mi. I set mine at 75 inside, outside was 90ish.When ac shut off I closed the top vent and turn off ac.It was nice inside for a good hour. That top vent really sucks the air out of my aframe, fan on high is a little much for me.I boondock 99% of the time and this works for me .HAVE A GOOD DAY

My 1905 has a Coleman A/C no auto on the thermostat and no ductwork so my fan runs all the time, have to wear ear plugs to sleep. Probably would have bought something else if I knew. Now that I think about it the thermostat is only for the furnace not the A/C.
