Am radio reception

I have a clipper aframe 12rbhw. When up in the hills camping my radio will receive fm stations but the am stations are weak or don't come in at all. Any suggestions?

External antenna. Most systems only have a "loopstick" AM antenna inside the unit; the vertical antenna is usually for the FM frequencies and only works as a "stinger" to the internal loopstick for local AM. Unfortunately there may not be an external connection for the AM but if there is then you can connect an insulated wire and string it as high as you can.

Good luck with it.
