Anyone Camping for Thanksgiving

We have reservations at Dangerfield State Park for two nights. My mother passed away this year so the only close relative left is my brother who lived with my mother and they took care of each other.

So Thanksgiving won't be the same so wife and I decided to do it a little different this year. My brother needs to get away from the house. We will arrive Tuesday evening and set up the camper....go to his house to visit with him and his dogs for that evening....spend the night in the camper and the next morning which will be Thanksgiving eve will go get him and bring him to camper to just relax and visit.

Not going big on Thanksgiving meal so we decided to go with boiled shrimp, potato salad, etc....he loves shrimp.

Won't be a typical Thanksgiving but hopefully will be enjoyable. Will be returning home Thanksgiving day.

I'll be camping at Creek fire cg in Savannah for thanks giving. The restaurant that is on site will be taking reservation for turkey dinner on Thursday. plan to do. Wife and I use to do different cg every year as we had no close family. Now that she has passed I still do the cg Thanksgivings. Beats sitting at home. Later RJD

I'll be camping at my Daughter's house in the driveway. Every Thanksgiving I bake bread for the meal (braided loaves and dinner rolls).

Decided this year to just take the trailer to her house and bake there. Also, when it's time to go home, rather than drive all the miles full of turkey I get to just walk out to the trailer.

Around here Thanksgiving Day traffic is sometimes worse than rush hour on a work week.

Wife and I are going to camp at a local lake for Thanksgiving. Ordered a "Turducken" to cook on the weber. Just kick back, relax and maybe do a little fishing.

Spending a few days including the actual holiday with camping friends at their home. (The husband just had a coronary bypass and isn't ready for wider exposure.) Then we will go on to our seasonal site for a few days. I will finish up a few tasks, maybe rake the site if the weather is nice, and winterize on the way out.

We've already had a few hard frosts in NC and the trailer is a bit north in VA.

Having had one of those (x4) in 2017, if he just had it he's probably grateful that Thanksgiving is coming to him. It takes a while to recover regardless of what's going on right now.

We we're planning on taking our traditional Thanksgiving trip to Crosswinds campground in Linwood NC but, due to family member and their diagnoses with dementia sickness, we've changed our plans. Family is way more important for now. Maybe last year we have with them... Just never know....
Our family is small, so there's only 4 of us who are actually going to be sharing a small Thanksgiving meal together.

Heading from Minnesota to the KOA in Omaha NB fri. Saturday will be turkey and all the fixins with my son and family. Then Sunday were off to SE Texas for four months of sunshine. Traveling with COVID is a little scary, but take precautions and mask up when needed and live your life.

Sorry to say that we had to pass on a camping trip over Thanksgiving this year. We plan on making up for it with a camping trip over Christmas to a little campground run by Sarasota County named Turtle Beach. It is on the beach camping on Siesta Key, right down the road south of Siesta Key Beach.
Hopefully the restrictions that have been in place since the COVID-19 pandemic started will be lifted so I can finally visit my Mother at Venice On The Isle. They have not been allowed visitors on campus since March 16th.

We often camp on Thanksgiving and this year will be at a state park in NC. We enjoy all the traditional foods. One less traditional procedure is the turkey breast in the crockpot.

Washington Governor killed our plans to visit daughter/grandson near Seattle. It is what it is. We’ve a bit of respite from snow and real cold so the two of us will take the mh to a year round cg and spend Thanksgiving there without accessing the outside craziness other than FaceTiming the heck out of family that day. I
We have faith this time next year will be better.

Waiting on a new Geo Pro to replace my current setup. It might be delivered in a few weeks. Hopefully, I'll get to camp around Christmas.

This holiday season requires us all to be a bit more flexible. and stay safe!

This is our 5th year spending Thanksgiving at Camp Hatteras on NC's Outer Banks. We have family that rents a house on the island while we stay in the camper.

It's the perfect time to visit in our opinion - the weather is still warm (compared to Ohio anyway), and there are no crowds like in the summer.

This year it provided a way for us to get a change of scenery while still keeping to ourselves. Happy Thanksgiving all!

I'll be staying at Sesquicentennial State Park in Columbia, SC by myself and will visit my eldest son and his wife for Thanksgiving and a day -- quick turn-around trip, but we'll spend most of our social time outside around their fire pit to maintain social distances. We'll repeat at Christmas (staying at Barnyard RV Campground in Lexington, SC) but including my youngest son and my grandson.

Before I depart, I'm having a set of Goodyear Endurance tires installed to replace my now 3 year-old Castle Rock tires with about 8-10K miles on them.

Not going anywhere but today I looked at the three state parks within 30 miles of my home to see if they were busy. All three are 100% full on the 25th and 26th.

We are camping near Myrtle Beach for Thanksgiving looks like most of the 850 campsites will be filled.
