Since the head is already broke off, take a small punch or nail and knock out the rivet. Go to harbor freight and buy a rivet tool.

Or any of the big box hardware stores. They usually come with a few rivets, or buy the size you need.

If you want to replace both of them. You can drill out the head of the other one. Just use a drill bit that's the same size as the hole for the rivet. Goes through. You just need to pop the head off not drill all the way through. Then as with the broken one punch out the rest of the rivet.

Thanks. I noticed that the clips don't line up. Should I redrill them so they do?

My latch clips don't line up either . . .
So I've taken a pen to mark (bottom clip) where it need to go to have the lock tab come thru . . .

The extra hole may be OK to see.
For me it's not a sell . . .
Small rivets are generally 1/8" diameter . . . test drill on an old piece of metal.
Pop rivets work by expanding and won't hold securely if the hole's to big.
If it's tight and you need to work/spiral it in then you have the perfect size hole.
Pop rivets aren't water proof . . . so if going where a leak won't be wanted in the future put a dab of sealant on it. (tooth pick to push some in the middle of the hole may help too ; )
