Came home and cut the mattress in two. Therefore we had to remove the heat coil, but the aggravation of having to lift the mattress every time we needed to get into the storage under the bed was a real PITA. Wife made new covers for each mattress. Now we just slide one back on top of the other and they are out of the way all day. I also cut the storage compartment lid in two to leave it down next to the sink (thats where the cooler goes) and we bought a lounge cushion to go on the side that lifts up for an additional seat during the day.
Now we have easy access, no blocked windows, and no heated mattress!

Interesting modification. When we had our A122, we needed a topper on top of the mattress to sleep comfortably. Even though our mattress and topper fit correctly, the weight made lifting the bed to access the storage very awkward. We ended up just accessing the under bed storage from the outside access doors; only stuff that was accessed once during a trip (gray water bucket and hose and similar) was put near the front where we lifted the bed to get it.
If we hadn't sold the A122, I probably would have reinforced and added a gas strut to lift the bed. I did put hinges and a mechanical strut on the right side dinette seat to make that storage area more accessible.
