Door locking on its own

Twice this summer the entry door on our 2020 Rockwood A122S locked on its own. How is this possible without a key. Fortunately the camper was not set up so we could just lift to roof to open the door. We did not have a key along with us the first time this happened but we did learn a valuable lesson about stashing a key in the front storage trunk. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes. Now I keep 2 spares in the truck at different locations. First time it happened the safety window was open and I managed to crawl through it and get in.

Locks

Thanks for the response. What I'm really curious about is how it's possible for the door to lock without a key.

Is this happening during travel or when parked?

Locks

The first time this happened it was locked when we brought it home from having maintenance done and dealer did not have a key. The 2nd time it was sitting in the driveway. Both times were in the last month. There is no way to lock the door without a key, right?

We've had this happen twice. I attributed it to the door being slammed shut by wind and the inertia (mass) of some part of the lock being thrown by the impact in a direction to engage the lock. This was my guess at the cause.
