Thought I'd share another little mod I did that really helps. I used a 16" strip of stick on white Led's, 8ft of 16 awg primary wire, 8 ft of 3/8" split conduit, a 5 amp Ato fuse holder/fuse and a set of magentic, stick on alarm contact reed switch, "normally open ". Attached the strip just under the edge of the door opening.Fastened the magnetic contacts to the hinge side of the door at the bottom. Ran the wire/conduit through the frame holes to front direct to battery. Really does a nice job of lighting the stairs. Total cost $20.00, all items from Ebay. Took an hour to figure out and install. I plan on painting the switches to match the door frame so they'll diasppear.
