Mileage while towing

Mileage depends on so many things, e.g. wind (for or against you), driving style (heavy or light foot), terrain (hilly or flat), etc. That said, I have a 2013 150 with the Ecoboost. Non-towing, I get about 15-17 around town. Towing, I have had as little as 14.6 and --I kid you not-- as much as 18.2. I got the 18.2 only once.

Ecoboost F150 on towing

I have the controller set on 5.5. It could probably go higher, but it seems to work OK where I have it.

Just got back from Canada with my 128 rockwood and 2013 f150 ecoboost. Got 16 mpg and went 3100 miles going 65-70 mph.
Brake setting is at 8.
Ran 2 days in the heavy rain and one time I pulled out to pass a truck and I put it to the floor... Well the ecoboost fell on its face and the engine light came on for about 40 seconds then all was fine again. I think it sucked water up the intake. It ran great the rest of the trip.

Now, where have I seen that written before.....

Oh yea. Every single ecoboost work order when I was a Ford tech....

Very common. Good luck.

I was glad it cleared itself up. The other day I got on it and it went from 5th gear to 3rd and made a very weird noise.... It did it a few times that day now it won't do it again.
Hard to take it to the dealer when it only does it one day then that's it.

I had the 5.0l.
People will tell you all the greatest stories about their ecoboost.

An Rcmp friend of mine was asking about the new trucks, asked me what he should buy. I told him, anything but an eb.
He bought an eb.
Within the first week, he was in for the full throttle misfire.

Just my experiences. Take them for what they are worth...

I have 20000 miles on mine, that was the first time it did it. I really like the ecoboost.

The issues are more common, where it gets cold.
I'm in the middle of Canada.

Just came back from the Forest River rally in Goshen Indiana. 550 miles r/t from our home. Ohio and Indiana turnpike all the way. Avg. 10.8 mpg. Mileage has come up from 9.1 to 10 on the same trip last year. Just under 9k on the truck. Running at 60 to 63 mph.

Weighed the truck and trailer on the way out. Trailer came in at 10,300 truck was 6,880. Total was 17,180, meaning I was 80 lbs over gross. Rear axle was 4,940 140 over. Have repacked some things in the trailer and I think we are good now.

Have just about 4k towing and not one hick-up. Heading to Hershey next week for the RV show. What will we look at ??? Motor homes are high on the list. Doesn't cost anything to look..
