Extra Deep Cycle battery?

I was thinking about mounting another battery on my A122BH. Has anyone else done this?
God Bless!

Yes...I mounted two 6 volt deep cycle golf cart batteries enclosed in plastic battery boxes. Since you already have a 12v battery, try to add another of similar age and capacity to prevent one from leaching voltage from the other.

Adds a bit of weight to the tongue but works well for an extra couple of days dry camping. I also added a battery disconnect switch to help isolate the batteries while not using the camper.

There are lots of threads on here that talk about this, but replacing the 12 volt with two 6 volt gc batteries run in parallel is the best upgrade I've done. I have dry camped for 5 days running the lights, fan, and water pump without a problem.

In parallel?......that's still only 6 volts....in series that's 12 volt

I had a second battery (12V size 24) added as part of the delivery of my A122. My goal was to get 4 days/3 nights of dry camping using heater as needed in the Colorado Rockies (batteries staying above 50%). So far, batteries have done 2 cold nights (high 20s) dry camping without issue.

An extra long battery box was added (replaced the standard single battery box) to just fit within the a-frame portion of the trailer tongue frame. It barely holds 2 size 24 batteries. I have added a marine dual battery selector/shut-off switch to avoid disconnecting battery cables while storing the unit.

Sorry, got my series and parallel mixed up. My batteries are rated at 235 amp hours, which of course I can't use all unless I want to kill my batteries. Pretty satisfied so far.

Yes. I built a custom battery box and mounted a very large 12V battery. Described here:

I am about to mount two 100 watt solar panels on the front slope. I will post details once done ....
