Front Storage Unit on A Frame Camper

Just bought a new Flagstaff A Frame 21HWDM. It has a outside storage unit with a plastic cover. You lift the cover and it has a kickstand type handle on each side that pop up to keep open. One side of the cover has plastic with grooves that the kickstand handle can slide on to keep cover at various levels open. The other side of the cover has no plastic piece and the kickstand handle just flops around. Is this normal or a factory defect?

That's the standard prop. I changed ours to a gas spring solution. I was always on the wrong side to raise or lower.

Ours has a piece on each side to prop the metal bar. Are you sure it hasn’t fallen into the front trunk?

My cover has grooves on both sides.

Both sides on mine have the kickstand and the grooves for holding it open.

Here’s what it should look like

Here’s some picture of what it should look like. One photo shows both sides. (No idea why this forum rotates some pictures 90 degrees. Only forum I know of that has that problem.)

Can you post what parts you used for this upgrade? That’s a great idea.

Wow, this takes me back. Here's a thread from
2016: https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...od-122772.html .

In post #18 I give part #s. Attaching is going to vary based on A-frame model year. Being able to stand on either side and lift the lid (on the 2016s impossible) is a big deal to me.
