Furnace issue

I have a 2022 A122s. Just got back from short trip in the California desert. It got cold at night, but when I turned on the furnace, after a couple of minutes the smoke alarm went off. I did not see or smell anything. I turned on the vent fan and cracked some windows but I did not help until I turned off the furnace. Tried again the next day, same result.

I can run a separate catalytic heater and the stove burners with no problem. I have only used the furnace before last year when I first bought the trailer. This was the smoke alarm on the ceiling, not the CO alarm under the table. Has anyone experience a similar issue?

If not used a lot, a furnace has to burn off oils on the material from where the furnace was manufactured. Also, they build up dust over time and that will also cause the smoke alarm. I recommend that if you have your rig parked at home to open all windows and the door and allow the furnace to run for 10 minutes or so and it should clear up.

Also, don't forget to replace the battery in the smoke alarm once a year. Otherwise, it will start that annoying chirping that you might mistake for a CO/Propane alarm. Don't ask me how I know this.
