Is this grey water piping from the factory?

Hi there, new member and owner of a new-to-me Flagstaff T12RBST A Frame.
I tried out the city water hookup and the sink but quickly realized that water was running out on the ground from the sink drain. I had the grey water tank drain gate valve closed but the water was draining from a small white PVC pipe that had obliviously had a valve at one time but was broken off. After investigating further, there is a 2 or 3" PVC pipe plumbed into the grey water tank and run to the back of the camper then reduced down to a 3/4" pipe is broken off. My guess is someone moved the camper but forgot about the hose connected and broke the pipe. Is this piping standard from the factory? I am thinking it was a modification of some sort from the previous owner. I can cap this small pipe permanently, but if the mod is desirable, then I may try to put a valve on the apparatus once more. Thanks and this is a really helpful forum!

I don't think any gray water tank and plumbing was factory standard. Only models with indoor showers would have gray water plumbing. On my 2 A-frames the sink drains to an outside capped outlet on the side. On one the outside outlet is 1.5", on the other it is garden hose connection.

I have an indoor shower and there is no gray water tank.

I wonder why previous owner went to the trouble of installing Grey water tank and piping? Are there campgrounds that would require it? Thanks for the replies!

Yes

Many campgrounds do not allow dumping of grey or black water on the ground. Usually PUP and A-frame owners run a short section of garden hose into a bucket or 5 Gal old water jug which they them empty at either the dump station or the restroom.

So, remove the tank and all the associated plumbing or just fix the broken valve and keep it? I don't think I want to empty 5 gallon buckets. Our local campground has sewage hookups. I'm guessing just have sink drain straight into that? Thanks again!

Why not add a PVC ball valve with a male hose thread and keep what you have. If you have a sewer connection then hook up a hose into the fitting and dump.

I think that is a good idea. Then no grey water tank to dump. I downloaded the Flagstaff sales brochure from 2014 and the previous reply about no grey water tank looks to be correct.

Here is a typical grey water tank set-up for the A-frames. If someone went to the trouble of adding a grey water tank to the A-frame I would be interested in seeing what they did. Please post some pictures of what they did. Thanks.

Can new members post photos? I used to use Photo bucket but stopped when they wanted what I thought was a expensive fee.

Where is the tank located? Just curious as I have a T12RB which is the same layout without the front storage and wondering where they mounted the tank.

There are lots of options for external tanks but you can definitely discharge directly into the sewer if you have hookups.

I will take some photos tomorrow and try to post them, but the tank is mounted forward of the fresh water tank, has a big gate valve pointing to the side of camper, another white 2 or 3" pvc pipe that is routed to the very back side of the camper. It is then reduced to a 3/4" pipe that is snapped off.

Interesting. I dont believe gray tanks were ever an option.

Still unable to post photos. I have the photos hosted and clicked on the "add URL of your photo", pasted the shared URL in the blank, but just an empty post shows on the forum. Any ideas about what might be going haywire? Thanks!

I just viewed 3 of your photos in post number 16. They're there. Certain doesn't look like a "factory installation". Get a pic of the broken end of the white pipe.
