Leaving A Frame Up

Hello,
New A frame owner here. If the weather is fine can I leave my A frame up for long periods? Any downsides? Thank you!

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. There should be no time limit on how long you can leave a unit open. With that said I would defer to the A frame group on the forum for their experience.

I would just make sure that you make sure the camper is good and level if leaving it open for extended time. Also keep an eye out for critters trying to jump into such a great place to hang out.

We regularly pass a Chalet Aframe that has been open for years in someone’s yard. Being all hard side, there really isn’t anything wrong with leaving it open (tent trailers, on the other hand, have canvas that you don’t want to expose to the elements longer than necessary to preserve it). Just check it occasionally especially after rain.

I leave ours set up in the driveway between trips.
I keep it plugged in to keep the frig cold. Kinda handy to be able to grab a cold beverage when out in the front yard. Use the radio too!
I open the windows on nice days to let it air out.
The FW tank and WH are drained between trips.

We leave our up. We live on the prairie and have high wind conditions. We prefer to put it down if the with appears to become severe. Consider this as a common sense decision. Why chance it?
