We have a Flagstaff T21QBHW. I was thinking of replacing the lead acid batteries with Li Ion batteries. Does anyone know whether or not the installed converter charging circuitry is compatible with Li Ion batteries?
I wouldn't imagine any rv converter, unless specially ordered, would charge li ion batteries. They require specialty chargers designed for them. Li ion batteries are also significantly more expensive
Progressive dynamics makes a lion converter.
200ah lithium runs about $2500 for a pair of group 31.
But, that 200ah of lion acts like 400ah of lead, and weighs half as much.
One of the best usages for LI is dry camping and even though they are drop in, the rest of the system needs to be compatible. LI can be strong enough to power A/C and there is news that a big development of dramatic more capability is coming, though not soon enough to consider at the moment.
You need to consult with the top end solar/LI/inverter/etc. service providers...you can research on the internet.
