Lift motor trouble

Just wondering if anyone else has the lift-assist motor installed on their unit and if they have ever had trouble with it?

motor recently went out -- wondered if it was a common issue or just a fluke thing ... have only owned the unit about 10 months when it went out

I couldn't answer that. Ive had mine for 1.5 years and its been used a lot including beach trips on north padre island. The beach ruined my generator but the lift motor still working. Maybe that thread will give you better answers? Good luck!

Thanks. From what I can tell, it was just a bad motor and there are remedies to it. Wish I would have joined this site sooner !

Consensus is that it is not uncommon for them to fail. My motor failed after 2 trips. Some think it is a water infusion issue.

Call Rieco Titan products it has a lifetime warranty, as long as you own the Camper.
They replaced mine for free just had to send the old one back.

thanks for the info -- I wonder what water infusion issue is ? Like does it fail because of being rained on, etc??

I have it. Never had a problem, and I mounted a solar panel. I pulled the specs and am still under the max rating.

Bought my unit in Jan, 2017. Raised and lowered no more than 4 times and the units has failed.
Fortunately I was aware of the ability of removing the top connect and manually using the unit.

Thumbs up

wow, everyone has been so helpful - thanks to all -- my unit will be repaired this week and it'll be nice to go out again -- will remember about disconnecting it and raising manually - didn't know you could do that -- I could have been going out camping instead of waiting on the dealer to fix the problem!

Auto correct gave me infusion, not intrusion. Water can get between the shaft and the housing.
