Had my early morning walk on the beach at St. Joe's, and around the campground and ajoining trails......never get tired of that with my morning coffee!
It's pouring now, supposed to clear by mid afternoon, so, I am just going to upload pics of the dunes, beach, and pelicans, etc at the marina , that I took yesterday. In the marina pic, a guy was cleaning fish, and feeding the birds.
Leaving tommorrow morning, headed east to Ochlockonee State Park.

You are welcome. I hope it stops raining soon, I don't think they let you go up if it is (because of liability if steps become too slippery). The Crooked River lighthouse is unique. We'd never gone up a "skeletal" light before, (only the brick type) so it was a first of it's kind for us. I've climbed or been in 9 of Florida's lighthouses. (Boca Grande Lighthouse is one you go in, not climb up).
In case you are interested, in Tallahassee there is a really good casual local seafood place named Warf Express. You go in, order at the bar (from a menu laying on the bar) then take a seat. The hush puppies are wonderful!! But, of course, we live waaaay inland and Long John Silver or Red Lobster are the closest to fresh seafood that it gets for us, so what do I know?

Poor Sis...Eh well, I'm sure she and the friends are old hands it and know enough to hunker down and sit tight if the roads get too bad.

sorry i haven't posted lately, no internet at Oclockonee, which was lovely btw......spent two days there, lovely drive on rte 98 too......had two amazing seafood dinners at a little family restaurant in Sopchoppy......then two days at Manatee Springs state park, very lovely boardwalk, and actually saw a manatee.....!!!....thousands of huge black vultures nesting in the trees at the mouth of the spings.
just arrived in Homosassa today, carefree rv resort, seems nice, clean, cheap, plus cable tv and internet, albeit dialup-like speed, lol........so, no pics til i get better speed.
gonna check out the springs here tomorrow and old Homosassa village.
Nice to hear from you. I knew you'd be "off the grid" and i-net while at Oclockonee. Glad you had a good time and meals while there.
Enjoy Homosassa and the manatees. We stayed in the Clearwater area (in a motel) several years ago. Driving along the gulf is slow going, but there are nice places to pull off and watch the sunset. We weren't pulling a trailer at the time. I just meant if you were out for a drive it's nice.
Are you going into Clearwater? Be careful on I-4. That length of road was at one time ranked the most dangerous interstate. It's just super busy.
The bridge over Tampa bay (from St. Pete going south) is a beauty.

Ok, found decent internet at the public library here in Homosassa springs....gonna stay here til monday, then reservations at Trimble Park in Mt. Dora for a while.
Haven't seen the state wildlife park in Homosassa yet, looks like more rain today..maybe tomorrow...rained yesterday, went to the tampa indian casino, lol. Might check out old Homosassa village today, and get a spare RV key made. Also want to do the Florida state fair in Tampa, next to the casino, it looks huge !

btw, i am having a terrible time draining my grey (sink) water..........am reducing the 1 3/4" connection to a hose to fill a 12 gal. plastic container I bought at the rv place, but the water seems to drain so slowly. and yes, i leave the air vent on the plastic container open........what am i doing wrong.

while it comes with a gardenhose adapter, that approach is not really optimal - what i did was find a PVC pipe coupler that matched the thread on the sink outlet on the camper, then friction-fit a PVC "T" to that (it just slides on and off, no threads, no glue) and then i drop a short length of PVC pipe from one side of the "T" towards the ground and here it goes into a walmart type Blue Tote water container. the other, open end of the T faces skyward and the base of the T is what connects friction-fit-wise to the threaded coupler.
your thinking is right, its slowing because of lack of air, but opening the air valve in the catching container is too far away to make a difference.
sort of along these lines... the vent is really the key element here to break the vacuum formed by the draining water..

Yeah, that pic is not mine, it's 3 pieces of PVC, the coupler, the T and a short pipe. Less than $7-8 or so. Easy.
