New Generator Purchased

I finally ordered a new Yamaha EF2000 generator for my A122 and as a small back-up for home. I already know the limitations of this size generator, but I will see if it will run the AC just for kicks. I will post up the results when I get everything up and running. I looked at some of the bigger models, but I really don`t need it and I have no desire to lift and transport a 75lb + generator.

Nice. Where did you get it from. I've been considering for awhile now.

We just picked up the Yamaha EF2400ishc. It been to cold to see if it runs the AC but I think it will. I too was worried about the 75 lbs but I guess I am stronger than I thought. I can easily get it in the back of my Avalanche by myself. I bought it more for home back up like you did so if it wont run the AC in the camper its no big deal..

I was trying to shop locally, buy the average price was around $1099.00 before taxes, so I ordered from Wise Equipment Supply, through Amazon, the price was $989.00 with free shipping and no tax. They have great reviews and I could not find any complaints with them about shipping or other issues.

If you find a better deal, please don`t tell me! J/K.

The AC issue is really no big deal, I never used the AC last year. If I camped in the south (Fl., Ga., S.C., etc.) I would absolutely want the option of running the AC.

Congrats on the new generators. They are both good ones. I have the Honda 2000i for backup at the house. These generators are great when the need for emergency power arises.

Any advice on must have accessories for this generator?

I did order the extended oil fill adaptor, but I can`t think of anything else besides the obvious stuff like funnel, gas can, Sta-bil, extra spark plug, gas &oil, and a quality cable and lock.

I'm going to keep a tab on this thread because someday I will need to buy a generator. I'm regretting a little about not buying my sister-in-laws Honor 2000 that was about 3 years old. She was willing to sell it for $450.

Congrats on the new generator. I have a Honda 2000w I bought back in 2005 and it has been a great generator. I am waiting for warmer weather also to see if it can handle the a/c in my camper. In my TT I had, if everything was off, the Honda would run the a/c. It was a little hard to start but once it did, it ran ok. Turned something on and it would bog down and sometimes quit. I had a 13,500 BTU unit in the TT so maybe it may work. If not, no big deal.
Good Luck with your new genny.

My new generator arrived today and my first impression is that it looks well built and feels like a quality piece of equipment. I hope to get it fired up this weekend and see what it`s limitations are. The generator was well packaged and I would not hesitate to recommend Wise Equipment sales, they had one of the best prices that I could find on a new generator from a large company.

It is the same engine as the Yamaha 3000 but a lot cheaper.
It is Boliy Pro3600Si and they have one with electric start for $100 more.
Her eis my video taht I did today.

If you make an offer of $1000 for this one he will take it.

That is what I had and sold because it was too heavy for just me to get into the Pickup. Dry that weighs 143lbs.
My new Boliy weighs 70 lbs dry and still 3,000 watts.

I just finished reading all of the owners manual and I still have two questions about the generator;

1. There is a ground stud on the side of the generator and the owners manual says to ground the generator before using it, but the stud appears to be labeled for battery charging only, I have never seen a generator set with a ground wire attached. Any help with clearing this up for me would be appreciated.

2. The owners manual says not to touch or operate the generator in the rain or if it is wet (May Cause Shock). The generators controls appear to be weatherproof, and does this mean if it is raining I can`t use the genny? It does not make sense to me and maybe I am reading this wrong. Again any help will be appreciated!!
