New owner (almost)-advice requested!
We are purchasing a 2021 Rockwood A223HW and driving to OH (from LA) to pick it up at the end of the month. What items do we need to procure ahead of time to be able to camp the night we pick it up? We are long time tent campers, so not talking about food, bedding, etc. More along the electrical, plumbing, towing lines. Thanks!!

The basics: sewer hose, water hose, and electrical adapters. Am assuming the new unit is 30 amps. you will need a 50m to 30f adapter, a 30f to 15amp male. You can always add the rest either along the road or when you get home.

One unique thing about this forum is all the subforums can see this subforum. So even though you are asking about a new A-frame (congratulations!) you get answers from many folks assuming you have a class A motorhome or a 5th wheel.
Without thinking too hard:
-Water line for freshwater
-Something to drain the gray water out of the sink into. A 5 gallon bucket will suffice temporarily
-The refer will take a while to cool down so a cooler with ice
-some sort of Levelers
-water pressure reg is a good idea
-wheel chocks
- It has a porta potty so appropriate chemicals
- it comes with a 30 amp power chord
I'll think on it some more.
Where in Ohio you getting it?

Is your tow vehicle (TV) ready to tow it?
Hitch (derp!) but correct size
electrical connector
brake controller installed
Rear view towing mirror extenders
Four way lug nut wrench. (Your car's won't fit the A frame's most likely)
Tire pressure gauge to check those tires

Welcome. All good tips above.
After you get the TT home, take a good look at the load range on the tires. The general experience here is that stock tires can be "china bombs" (you can search this term here). One answer is to get US made tires in a higher load range. So become aware of what tire is on the TT.
I would add a voltage meter to the TT, after you get home.

a small hydraulic jack for lifting to change a trailer tire, breaker bar and a socket for the tire lugs... find a Harbor Freight to pick that stuff up... you may never need it, but you better get one as trailers do not come with them

Yes on small bottle (hydraulic jack)
RS Data, good item to have....
one other thing. You can use the bottle jack to add or subtract a leveler in place, without the tow vehicle connected.

Not sure my reply to you went thru--we are going to Holland, OH to pick it up. Staying for 2 nights nearby at Maumee Bay State Park in case we need to go to dealer. Then off to WV, VA and SC!

Wow.
If you are taking a big ol' trip you need to do a LOT of research between then and now.
It took us several one night trips to get comfortable with our A frame. Made a few mistakes during those trips. I shudder thinking about what would have happened if we had just taken off the first time we hooked up.
So get on here and learn from other's mistakes. Be prepared!

We’ve camped a lot in in-laws Coleman popup and Aliner. Not complete rookies!

Maumee's darn near in the state up north! I was there many, many years ago. Nice park.
Be safe, take it slow, enjoy. Sounds like you have a good handle on things.

Camping
If your TT has the outside drain for sink, P/U an inexpensive sink drain elbow kit from hardware store-$5 The quick turn nut will screw to your outside drain and you can drain it into a 5 gallon bucket . Avoids a wet spot outside where the steps are going into the trailer, was on mine anyway.
Get a good 25' RV water hose, 1 st time-No White "kink O matic" The Aqua Camco seems to be good.
Get a 45 lb. water pressure regulator. They come in 35 lb. and 45 lb. If you have a shower the 45 makes a difference. The adjustable meters are nice but $50 vs $9 for the preset. All will get sand in them over time and go bad. I have had and still carry both as a spare.
A nice 50' extension cord and an electric lantern to put over the picnic table. Party lights?
If manual stabilizers, drill adaptor.
I would say get a good sewer hose, but have not found one. Do not get the cheapest.
Clear elbow to connect sewer hose to dump station if required.

You don’t have a shower or toilet so all you need for this trip is a short section of garden hose (3 ft) and a water container to get the runoff from the sink and probably don’t even need a 50 to 30 amp dog bone. I haven’t come across a campground yet that didn’t have a 30 amp receptacle.
Happy camping
