No oven temperature marks

I have a 2019 a212hw with the suburban oven. The oven doesn’t have any markings on the dial. Anyone else have this?

Notably inaccurate to the indications anyway. Get a small oven thermometer and hang off the rack. Observe actual temps and you can mark your usual setting.

Our marks are on the knob itself - the part that's perpendicular to the front of the oven. Hard to describe, but we have to look down at the knob from above to see the markings on the knob.

Does that make sense????

Thanks, i had read they were innaccurate, i didn't see any markings but i will look again. Just packed it away in the garage for 2 weeks. I was just trying to figure out if it was 100 or 500 degrees. we just cranked it all the way and watched it.

We have only used the oven component once - last week, that's why I remember it. Seems like it was accurate enough at 350 for making stuffed green peppers. I probably wouldn't try to bake a cake or make a soufflé, but it's close enough for the kinds of cooking we do in the trailer.

I should also add that I don't trust oven thermometers very much, so we keep one of those IR "pistol grip" thermometers in the kitchen to verify temps. It also does double-duty by checking tire and hub temps at fuel stops!

If your wire oven rack is low in the oven, most things will burn like biscuits on the bottom... move the rack up 1/2 way and lower the cooking temp and/or cooking time by 5%... this seems to work for us fairly well, although bottoms can still get a little dark.

That is on the end. Sure it's not the striker knob?

It looks like the same stove that I have - the piezo starter is a separate button on the far left of the control panel.

Many folks remark they have success fixing the burning bottoms of they baked goods with putting a pizza stone on the bottom rack to help distribute the heat more evenly.

We do use the pizza stone and an oven thermometer. The stone will help to regulate the overall temp and prevent the bottom of whatever you are baking not burn as soon as you put it into the oven. Be certain to preheat the oven before adding your pan.

My oven at home is marked from 170° to 550°. Assuming there will be any similarity to the dialed to temp actually being accurate. Two thirds from 170 to 550 would be about 350° plus or minus 20 or so.

Don’t lose the thermostat!

I have that same oven (or at least the same knob). I am sitting in my dinette looking at it right now. On mine, the markings are on the sides of the dial itself (though very faintly). So, to set it, you would look straight down on the dial from above.

Looks just like the knobs on my stove. What a pain.

when I finally found markings on my knob, i checked it against a professional grade temp probe in oven, and found my suburban oven thermostat was pretty close to markings on knob. Always good to check. I still use the temp probe, as I don't care for burned food.
