Pop ... goes the water heater ...

My full gas water heater seems to have ignition problems, and need to know if anyone else is experiencing this .. cause this is my first trailer with this option.
The gas is turned on, to the one one bottle i wish to drain. I open the propane tank, and then go inside and flick the switch for the ignition for the water heater. - all this ofcourse after I have purged the water lines of all air.
Anywhoooo .. the ignitor comes on for at least 2 full rounds, before i hear an "explosion of sort" just at the door of the WH. I am assuming this is not normal .. and has happened now twice in a row when I start the system up cold ... and now its happening when it has been running, and comes on during the night to warm the water. The ignition of the WH wakes up the dog. I shut it down on my last trip .. because i think there is something "amiss".
The unit will be going in for its first warrenty service in the next few weeks, and I know this will be covered ... but if anyone has an explaination, it would be most appreciated.

Mine does that too. I don't know why. So I just started using the heating element. Saves on gas. And a lot more quiet. Hopefully somebody will help us.

First thing I would do is remove the burner assembly and give it a good cleaning.

yea ...

Thats what i thought too .. but being that its under warrenty i think i will let someone else check it out .. while doing the rest of the work required.

im thinkin thats most likely where all this problem stems from .. spiders in the venturie ... after all .. its only 3 months new.

So, is it 'normal' to make a loud noise when the wh is running? It was the middle of the night. It almost sounded like we had a major water flood issue. Checked it all out and could not find a problem, just a loud roar.
