Propane Furnace not working

Heads up. I moved my camper to another campground, during a heavy downpour. I tried turning on the furnace during the set up.It wouldn'T turn on, although the propane was on, and the thermostat set to a proper setting. The next day, I read the manual. It suggested , setting the temperature to the lowest setting, turn oftf the propane , and electric, open the front of the metal grate furnace , that's beneath the sink, and push in the button for a few seconds, to let a 'pocket of gas escape'. I turned the propane back on, lite the range burner first, (to prove I had gas), increased the temperature to a desirable amount, and success, the heater came on. My point is, when traveling in a down pour, and setting up, maybe there is a corelation, between the dampness, or wet conditions, that made the furnace not work, at that point. Just a thought.
