Questions about buying or making an additional outside shelf table
I am looking to buy or make an additional shelf to mount outside my A-Frame. I currently have one and functions well (see images below).
Does anyone know where I can buy an additional table that will mount on the mount strip outside the trailer? Any information and/or any links appreciated.
Does anyone know where I can get a mounting strip so I can to attach the shelf table to the trailer if I need to make one (and maybe what the mounting strip is called). Any information and/or any links appreciated.
Thanks!

I built a table so it would hang lower than the factory one. Our beast mode suspension has the TT sitting higher than normal, and the mounting strip is too high. Here's a link to the mounting strip I used...

Cool table you built for yourself.

I bought a second prep table from Roberts Sales in Denver (prep table is what Roberts called it). IIRC, cost was $45, probably more now. We set the 2 tables up in line with each other on the same mounting strip. Roberts will ship, and they have a wide range of A-frame and pop-up parts (they have a rental fleet of Flagstaff pop-ups). https://robertssales.com/

Thanks much Fred for the intel.
I did look at their web site earlier before my original post hoping they have what you said and did not see it under parts.
I will contact them direct and see if they still offer it.
-----
BTW, what parts did you get to install your dining table with one leg? (and the length of the post) Did you get them from Robert Sales as well?

I always call Roberts for parts I'm looking for. Their web page list is incomplete.
For the single leg, I searched on Amazon and some boating supply sites. Most were prohibitively expensive. I found an aluminum fixed post (with the 2 end sockets) for under $60 on Amazon and bought it. Knowing that a single post was not going to be particularly sturdy, I added a ledge to the front wall, and put velcro on it an the table edge. This made the table sturdy enough, but has earned the enduring wrath of SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) for having a 1" ledge sticking out when we use the front as a 3rd bed or a rear-facing bench.
Of course, SWMBO forgets she ordered me to get rid of the folding legs under the dining table, as they took up all that storage space.

Roberts shows the prep table on the “Options” page for $55. I always check “Parts” and “Options” as they don’t necessarily classify things the was I would.

Ahh! I did not think to look there. Thanks much for that reminder when looking for parts.
Found it! Thanks again to both you and Fred.

Fred, one go back; what length table post did you find that worked well for you?

A couple of requirements - the floor construction took away the flush mount at the bottom.
- I didn't see the waferboard as thick enough to support a flush mount without a hole through the bottom. And I didn't want a hole as an opening for splash water to get in. Same for the underside of the table - would have to be a surface mount for the pipe to fit into, not a flush mount. The surface mount at the bottom is another sore spot with SWMBO. She wanted a perfectly flat floor under the table.
- I wanted higher than the folding legs put the table. Kitchen/dining tables are typically 30" high on the top surface. That was my desired height.
- I think the pole is 26" or 27" in height. It fits tightly in the mounts, but not too tightly for easy removal. The pole does not lock in - all the locking models were beyond my budget.
- I padded the mount under the table with about an inch of plywood to get more table height and longer mount screws. I used machine screws (#10?) through the floor with caulked fender washers and lock nuts to avoid inadvertent leaning on the table from tearing up the floor and any water damage to the floor.
I got lucky, with the table in place on the pole and the ledge, I can still fold the camper down. Did not think about that in advance. Table can be in either position for trailering. Some photos of my install are attached.
Things SWMBO does not like about the install:
- the ledge protruding from the front wall. She has taped a foam cover over the ledge, but hates the look.
- the pole mount sticking out of the floor.
- because of butting the table on the front wall, table cannot be rotated for easier access to the seats.
Engineering has its rewards, but is a reminder that the customer wants are never fully understood at the beginning.

Wow Fred! Above and beyond!
I was not expecting the detail of what you shared of how and why you did it the way you did. I really appreciate you taking the time to spell it out, your procedures and demonstrating the results with excellent images. No more questions from me on this. I now know what and how to do it.
You taking the time to give such a detailed response (and I was only asking for the height ) is one the reasons I really appreciate having this forum to learn from others for how too's and other good information. Your thoughts are often the best for us A-Framers.
Thanks for what you do and sharing your valuable experience.
(P.S. I hope your SWMBO has come to adjust to it, and appreciate what you did )
