Replacement actuator arrived

Just opened the box for the new replacement actuator sent from FR. They did a terrific job getting us a replacement quickly for our upcoming trip. Supposedly this is a new, updated actuator, but the label on this one is exactly the same as the one we took off. Looks exactly same. Hopefully the guts are different (or maybe I had the "new" one to start with since I have a 2018).
Going to install later today. Will see if it sounds different.

The trick to these is to make sure and use them to keep them from seizing. I cycle mine on a regular basis and have never had any problems. If they get wet and sit they are useless.

The one they sent me has a plug in part that I am going to have to drill a small hole to mount near the actuator.

My old one already had a plug, so I am not sure what is different. If you don't mind can you take a close up of the tag on the motor so all the numbers show? It does not look like my new one (which I really think is the same old model).

I dealt directly with Reico-Titan, they sent the part. customerservice@riecotitan.com Mine does not currently have a plug. The actuator is closed up in the camper at the moment so I am not able to get a photo. My camper is T21TBHW, new 2017. As you can see from the reply I received, I was told it was the new version.

"Hi, Terri.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the roof actuator. Please send me your
shipping address and we'll send you a new and improved version. Also, if it
isn't too much trouble, can you email a picture of the actuator motor
showing the model and serial number on the label?

Thank you!

I always thought your model was exactly like the Rockwood A213HW. Just curious how did your old one get its power if it didn't have a plug? Don't worry about a picture. I am going to send a picture of mine to Reico and see what they say.

It's hardwired in. I am going to have to locate where the wire is on the inside wall near the actuator and splice it into the plug they sent me. It's likely accessible under the bed on that side.

Maybe they changed to a plug for the 2018 models.

Maybe they have had so many issues that require replacing them that they've made them a plug-in!
