Trailer dollies

I am wondering if anyone has tried maneuvering a trailer like the A122S with something like Harbor Freight's trailer dolly? It specifies a 600 pound capacity, which I assume means tongue weight, not trailer weight? I keep my A122S in the garage, so maneuvering it around is work for me and my wife. I've watched videos of guys using the Harbor Freight dolly, but they all seem to be using it on lighter trailers (snowmobiles, ATV, utility trailers, etc.). Would it be helpful with something like the 2,000 lb A122S?

For wintertime storage, i actually rear winch my A122 into my single garage using a 3000lb 12 volt winch ...(yea yea .. i know .. over engineered) and use the same dolly too guild the trailer into its right spot ... which is about 2 inches clearance from either side of the garage door.
it works well .. however there seems to be a bit of stress on the dolly ..have dual batteries and propane is always full ... but hey .. i only use it a couple times of year ...

will be using it this year to release and retrieve the trailer in mid Feb. 2016, with a couple of feet of snow ...

hope this helps ..

I tried the Harbor Freight dolly and returned it. If there is any incline at all you will get a hernia trying to push the camper.

Bought a "Trailer Valet" instead. More expensive but takes all of the work out of it..I used to keep my camper in my garage and had 2" clearance on each side of camper....could put it in with no problem with the trailer valet.

You can see it on you tube if you are interested.

Thanks David, interesting alternative. Don't need the hernia.

The Trailer Valet looks like a pretty good invention. It does seem like a pretty easy way to maneuver the trailer in the garage.

I lucked out and found a front bolt on 4 inch receiver for my Toyota Tacoma for only $175 and now I just push my trailer into Any tight spot or incline in just a few minuets.

I use the 600 lb dolly on my A128S. It works fine on flat ground and with another person or two on the trailer to help push or pull. It handles the tongue weight well but I make sure to go nice and slow!

Helps make getting into tight spots easier and turning the trailer around at a campsite if wanting to have two adjacent trailer's doors oriented towards each other.

Trailer dollies

I gave the Harbor Freight trailer dolly a try and it worked great. I can turn and maneuver the trailer into the garage now without help from my wife. I was amazed at how well it worked. Obviously, I wasn't trying to push the trailer uphill, but we do have a very small incline going into the garage. No trouble at all!

We use a dolly that my dad had for his speed boat. It is a dream in helping to maneuver the trailer into the garage.

Once the camper is in the garage we opted to go with the GoJak wheel dollies to push it sideways into the storage space; we have about 6 inches to spare on the back end and pushing it in & out is now a breeze, no more scuffed up walls or camper!
