Undercoat New Rockwood A128S Aframe?

I noticed on my newly purchased Rockwood A128S AFrame that the underside of the trailer is exposed particle board. There appears to be a thin black sealer painted onto the exposed particle board but I was wondering if I should undercoat it more thoroughly. If so, with what product?

Thanks,

I asked the same question in the spring. I had visions of coating the underside with that rubberized truck bed coating. Someone here, maybe d-mo, advised against it. If I recall correctly, it is engineered like that to breath and that adding a coating might void some of the warranty...or something to that effect.

That's one of the first things most of us wondered about when we first got our A-frames so you're in good company. The answer is no, because any kind of coating prohibits the floor from drying if/when it gets wet. I think it would also void the warranty.

yep ... that was me ..
the flooring on these units have a 25 year warrenty .. believe it or not .. and undercoating will definately void it. I cant remember the product name, but i researched it before ...and it needs to breath ...
Anywhooo ... after looking under my unit today (prepping it to be pulled into the garage) its as dry as a bone, and everything is in check, .. and my build date was either december or october of 2010.
Any rot in the flooring will come from unchecked leaks in the windows or siding of these little trailers, and being so small .. these are quickly spotted and sometimes easy to correct.

welcome to the forum .. d-mo

Thanks to everyone......it is great to have your technical advice. I would not have wanted to void my warranty.

Take care.
