20 ton bottle jack. It was a Christmas gift. I think they were on sale for half price at Princess Auto (a Canadian version of Harbor Freight).

I laugh at the overkill on the jack sizes posted on here. I carry a small 4 ton jack that will easily lift one end of one axle at a time. If my math is correct, a 4 ton jack is capable of lifting 8000 lbs, but who lifts their whole trailer off the ground to remove one wheel and tire. I would have a 2 ton jack if I had not already had the 4 ton one. However, each to his own.

I was going to post something similar after reading the responses. I have a 6 ton-it's reach is a little taller than a smaller one. Several 1x8 to set the jack on or to drive on when needed to leveling.. Also have a set of Lynx blocks.

You’re right of course about the overkill size bottle jacks but mine was free (to me) and others need a jack for other things besides just lifting their camper. So let’s not judge. Regardless of the ton rating they don’t take up much space.

Yea, 12 ton is waaaay overkill, but bought it at a yard sale for a dollar. It had been stored on its side, no oil in it, would not lift more than a few inches. Looked like new. Added oil, has been around since 1988 and used on a....ahem....ton of stuff!

I carry a 3 ton aluminum floor jack in the back of truck. My wife and I get a kick outa seeing how fast I can change a tire out on the road. The Level Up on our Cedar Creek wins the race however. Loosen lugs, press button, remove tire. Replace tire, press button, tighten lugs.

If there is something better out there I have yet to find it. Hope to see what others solutions are.
The jack that came with your TV will safely lift an A-Frame.

No, that's why I posted this in the A-Frame forum. Since everything is small for us with these I was looking to get opinions regarding something small enough to store yet big enough to do the job for both the TV and TT.

I also have the AAA premier towing plan but I also believe in redundancy.

I carry a heavy-duty bottle jack (can't remember the tonnage) and the device below which goes up against the shackles beneath the axle.

jacks

For ease, I like the Anderson Drive on ramps. But if you are single axle, that will not work. You can pick up a "Shorty" 6 ton bottle jack from Tractor Supply or Northern Tools for about $40. Make sure to choke opposite side when changing tire and keep attached to TV. Use leveling blocks to raise jack as high as possible w/o screwing top out. The shorty style jacks are more stable and take up less weight and space carrying. Also easier to get under a low trailer.

If size and weight is a thought, use a larger scissor type jack. Maybe 10.00 at any auto bone yard. Get two. Permanently mount one to each side. You get the added benefit of a stabilizer/ leveling jack as well.

Use the stock truck jack for the truck and an 8T bottle jack for the trailer. Works perfect, jack directly under the center if the spring. Use my standard tonque blocking under the jack to extend lifting range.

We rely on the OE scissor jack that came with the TV - it works well. We've had to put to the real world test on more than one occasion.
