Saying Goodbye to Trilogy
It has been a good run with our early production 2013 (2012) Trilogy 3650 RL. Probably would have kept it forever, if not for its windows .
It was a struggle to find a higher-end fifth wheel, with the floor plan we desired, but settled on a VanLeigh Beacon 40FLB.

Congrats!!! Didn't like the River Stone Legacy or no floor plan you liked? We were thinking of a Trilogy but they ended to soon, we have been very happy with our River Stone Legacy, best of luck with your new Beacon.

We looked at the River Stone, preferred the 6 slide front living on the Beacon. A little shorter than RS, but no lost space with the extra slide. Another huge consideration is that it is a Tiffin...can't beat their family owned customer service.
Take a look:

Very nice, that floorplan was similar to the Cedar Creek front living room but has been discontinued. I know while at the Hershey show the River Stone with a front living room the couch's were not very comfortable and the rep did say they were looking to change them, that was in the RBFL model.
There is one guy putting out videos about how bad his Beacon is (his opinion) so you might want to look him up, he had been putting videos up on YouTube. Not trying to discourage you just want you to maybe view them for things to look for when picking yours up.

Thank you. Haven't seen any of his videos...The Beacon has only been in production since 2018. As with any, I am sure there are issues early on which is probably why the first year or two models are a little less expensive.
Beacon has American Made Franklin furniture...not Lippert/Tomas Payne junk.
If you look closely, the Beacon's wood work and interior, it has much of the same as what they use in the Allegro Bus. This is no accident, their plan is to go head-to-head with DRV.

Here they are, I am not to sure about him and all of his complaints. Yes there woodwork is very nice and I like the small cables on the cabinets doors so they do not hit another cabinet or wall, a very nice little touch that means a lot to some folks.

Thanks, good stuff to look for at PDI...not sure how he missed all of that.
The factory rep told me that early production full body paint was bring done at a rented Winnebago shop...hence Iowa. This is no longer the case.

Great on the paint, seemed odd sending them that far to get painted.

Agreed. Probably because their first two models did not offer full body paint. It took them a while to build their paint shop like they have in Red Bay AL, for motorhomes, which we toured when we bought our 2018 Tiffin Red.
Sure seems like they got either a lemon or one that was badly abused by the dealer or transport. We have seen nothing like that on any other media or forum site.

Sorry to hear you are moving from the Trilogy. We've had ours 6 years now, over 45,000 miles on it and all is finally well. Currently in White Sands, NM. Saw another Trilogy in Clovis, NM yesterday.
I would hate the thoughts of breaking in another new RV. What a pain!
Hope you enjoy the new unit!
John

John,
Thanks, appreciate all your Trilogy knowledge and insight over the years. Tough decision, but keeping it primarily as a seasonal, on the coast...salt air, couldn't keep the windows straight.

Will not try to know which RV is best for you but I am so envious of you Trilogy owners. We had a 2013 3850 RL that we absolutely loved. Unfortunately, the Trilogy was totalled out three years ago.
We would have bought another one but of course they were no longer made, so we replaced it with a Champagne. The Champagne is really nice especially since we got rid of the Truma and had disk brakes put on. We like the three air conditioners and the Induction cooktop. But there was so much more storage in the Trilogy - my husband even had his own closet (the slideout closet).
Whatever you choose, enjoy the travels.

After a Covid delay, finally took delivery of our Vanleigh Beacon 40FLB. After 10 days, the only issue was a missing door magnet that was repaired at the dealership. Huge increase in living space compliments of 6 slides. The only carpet is a small piece below the dinning table, hand laid Shaw vinyl tile throughout the rest. Three AC’s that will all run at the same time, is a big plus for consistent temps throughout the rig. No more hotspots. The proprietary Tiffin ducting system makes the AC’s almost silent. Not only does the Batt insulation substantially improve the R factor, but greatly improves the sound proofing.
