Glad you like yours. It is a beautiful RV. I have a DRV though. No loss here. I am simply informing about what I researched. We are full time and insulation is very important to us.

Bps, but it's sandwiched between 3/16" Luan and 1/2" Luan which adds insulation below the fiberglass roof, does it not?

Others manufactures do also with 5" of block foam. Not promoting heartland but I have researched the Landmarks. They have Luan, radiant barrier and 5" block foam. And I don't believe they are built as well as Trigoly. Trigoly just came short in this area. The overhead insulation is very important. Ever wondered why Dynamax doesn't post r values?

Bpe, also to consider is the type of block foam , R-values vary between the types, also there is concerns of the fiberglass insulation settling in the walls and compaction which over time will affect true R-values and possibly leave gaps....RVs are not a perfect world so the best we can do is get what works for us. That being said when we go fulltime in 2014 we will not be in the extremes of hot and cold so we will be ok .
We also considered the DRV heavily but I didn't care for the material designs they use on window treatments also things like an oven , dishwasher and garbage disposal I have no use for, but also to add things like a second awning, slide toppers, residential fridge and some other odds and ends added more cost.
The best thing is we have choices on what we can purchase , be it the price ,design etc. we all have different likes and dislikes and not a 1 size fits all , I'm glad the DRV works for you and that you are happy with it , in our case it wasn't the right fit for us .........

I am new to your forum, but am learning alot. Glad to see it is so active. My wife and I are looking hard at a Trilogy 3850RL, but we have a few things like building a new home to get out of the way first.
My question is, it seems like everyone is buying the 3650RL instead of the 3850RL. Is there a particular reason?

WAP, In our case we decided on the 3650 as it is 38 "10 and 3850 is 41"10 , even the 3650 is a little too long in my opinion but it has everything we wanted and the extra 3 ft on the 3850 was more than we needed

Hey Doogie, We had the same great experience last July, when We also toured the Dynamax facility. The amazing thing was the timing of our visit was over 4th of July week. The employees had holiday shutdown, so no activity going on. They still turned on the lights and took Us station by station to understand the assembly process. The really great thing was the hands on and I was able to understand everything at our own pace. They also asked us for any input positive or negative. When We discussed the few negative items, they actually went out into our Trilogy and remedied them in the parking lot. They gave us 2 brand new recliners and replaced the air mattress. They had people out of the office helping us. We have a 3800 Vin# 41 and love it. This will be our retirement home in a couple years and love our investment. As for insulation, I'll be the 1st to admit a problem, but once I stepped back and looked at the situation, I'm OK with everything. I had a problem getting ours cooled down twice over last summer. Both times, We where camping in 100+ degree heat and staying in a campground in the middle of a field. Both times the campgrounds was packed with everyone's air running full blast. I think all of this together had an affect on the interior heat. This is the only time I've ever had any problem. Once again, we love our Trilogy!

Good to hear that you had a great experience as well. The Dynamax folks did about the same thing for us, they began fixing any issue we had on the spot and DW and I decided to leave it for a couple days to get the small items all completed at once. We have VIN #28 and love it - after working with Dynamax customer service we even feel better about the purchase.

The Trilogy has a tremendous amount of storage space and you have to watch yourself so if you are coming from a unit with limited space.... dont need to take your total existence with ya!

I'm curious bpe, if you own a DRV, and your not planning on purchasing a Trilogy, why do you even care?

sroarke, You know I was thinking the same thing ! Why does he come in here and flame the Trilogy? I was so close to getting the DRV but to have the things that we wanted and to remove what we didn't wasn't worth the extra money, but do I flame the DRV? NOPE, and oh how I could, but I know its not a one size fits all world.

And on a lighter note our dealer got our 3650RL hot off the Dynamax line today so they should be getting it in a week or so !

We are planning to go out and pickup in mid July, hopefully they can get the generator and washer/dryer installed before then, well that's if we can come to a deal

I didn't "flame" the Trilogy. I even stated it is a nice coach and stated it was well made above another line just I was disappointed in the upper insulation. I am looking to buy a larger coach. I have looked at the Trilogy and was seriously considering the larger unit. the insulation threw a red flag. No one had mention this and was really bragging on unit. This needed bringing up. Talked to salesman at Dynamax today. He is suppose to get back to me if they using blue Downing or standard white foam in the roof area. The blue downing is more dense. He said blue is used along with white but couldn't at that time say where.

bpe, the way you stated your comments made it sound like a flame, Not your intention? Good , no harm, no foul . We had insulation concerns in the beginning but knowing that we would not be in the extremes of weather that we would be fine , The Trilogy had all we wanted and wasn't loaded with things we did not want so it was a perfect fit for us, but you will have to be comfortable with the insulation issue , we have a class A MH that has been in near zero and around 100 deg. with the white foam insulation and we were ok

any of you have any issues with the rather small looking counter space. Where the coffee pot go? Or are the pictures deceiving?

My coffee pot sits at the end of the Island. There are outlets at the end and works out perfect. Most of the time the wife has stove covers on and when not, she uses Island for food prep. 3800 island is pretty large compared to our last big horn. Wife said she would like more space, but still works out well for her.
